Sir & Ma'am
**SIR·MA'AM·ics**
Half sir, half ma’am, fully fun— where quirk meets craft, and the dining table becomes a stage for play. We’re Aiden and Greta, partners in both life and clay, blending our distinct styles to create ceramics that spark curiosity and joy. Each piece is thoughtfully designed to make mealtime feel fresh and engaging, crafted with meticulous attention to detail and a spirit of exploration.
Greta, the “ma’am” of the duo, is a sculptor and hand-builder driven by intuition and a passion for texture. She embraces experimentation, crafting unconventional pieces that are tactile and bold. Greta allows the clay to guide her, revealing surfaces and forms that feel dynamic and surprising.
Aiden, the “sir” in SIR·MA'AM·ics, balances Greta’s approach with his classical training as a wheel thrower who values precision and balance. He starts with flawlessly shaped forms on the wheel, which he then transforms through intentional distortions and playful carvings. These unique details add depth and create a distinctive blend of technical skill and artistic expression, marrying precision with playfulness.
Our styles collide in ways we never anticipated, resulting in a delightful fusion of sculpture and utility that’s made to be enjoyed. What began as a way to spend creative time together soon became a ritual we look forward to almost every day. When friends and family began asking for our pieces—and actually paying for them!—SIR·MA'AM·ics was born. Now, we craft in small, thoughtful batches, with each piece celebrating form, function, and the joy of creating together.
SIR·MA'AM·ics: Making the dining table a space for play, not just a place to eat.
